Weekly Pool Cleaning, Maintenance, and Care Across Austin

Ph.D. Pool Care has been providing swimming pool service in Austin since 2016. Every weekly visit includes surface cleaning, brushing, vacuuming, basket and filter maintenance, a full equipment inspection, and a complete water chemistry test. We stay on site until the job is done, and if conditions require a return visit between regular services, we handle it.

Our monthly rate covers all chemicals. You are never buying chlorine, shock, or stabilizer on your own, and your bill stays the same regardless of what the pool needs that week. We keep your technician consistent so the same person is learning your pool and catching problems early, and our office is available by phone or text whenever something comes up.

Four Service Levels to Fit Your Pool

Chemicals included

Why We Include Chemicals in Your Flat Rate

Every pool service company in Austin handles chemicals differently. Some bill them separately, some mark them up, and some leave you to source your own. We include all standard chemicals in your flat monthly rate because it produces better results for the pool.

When chemicals are billed separately, the provider gets paid more when more product is used. That misaligns the incentives. Our model works the other way around:

  • If we underdose, the pool suffers and we come back on our own time to fix it
  • If we overdose, we are spending our own money for no benefit
  • Keeping your water precisely balanced is the only outcome that works for both of us

That means the healthiest condition for your pool is also the most efficient outcome for our business. Your monthly pool maintenance cost stays flat, every visit is completed with the right materials, and you never make a trip to the pool store.

Why No Contracts?

We run month to month because we do not need a contract to keep our clients. If a pool service near you requires a long-term commitment, that usually says more about their confidence in the service than it does about yours.

If you are ever unsatisfied, you can cancel immediately and any unused portion of your service is refunded. No penalty, no hassle. Our approach is straightforward: if we take care of your pool the way it should be taken care of, you will stay.

The Chemistry We Test on Every Pool Cleaning Visit

Most weekly pool routes in Austin test two things: pH and free chlorine. That is enough to keep a pool from looking obviously wrong in the short term, but it does not protect the pool over time. Every Ph.D. Pool Care visit tests pH, free chlorine, calcium hardness, total alkalinity, and cyanuric acid.

Imbalances in any of those five typically take months to show up as scaling, surface etching, or a stubborn algae bloom, so catching them early is what keeps a repair bill from showing up a year down the road.

  • Calcium hardness and total alkalinity, keeping the pool's plaster, tile, and equipment safe from water that is too hard or too soft
  • Cyanuric acid, the stabilizer that works like sunscreen for your chlorine, keeping the Texas sun from burning it off between visits
  • Additional parameters when a pool needs it, for something like a stubborn algae bloom or a salt cell that has stopped behaving, though that level of testing is rarely needed on a healthy pool

  • Pump, filter, heater, automation, and light repair or new installation, all handled in-house
  • Licensed electrical work for pool equipment issues
  • Same-day emergency service across Travis and Bastrop Counties for existing and new customers

Service levels

How the Four Service Levels Differ

Every tier balances the same essential water chemistry on every visit, free chlorine and pH first, with cyanuric acid, calcium, and bicarbonate adjusted as needed. Chemistry Plus adds equipment inspection and basket cleaning.

Full Service adds the netting, vacuuming, and brushing most owners want done for them, and VIP adds weekly LSI balancing, a calculation that keeps pool water from corroding equipment or leaving scale and stains on the surface.

  • Chemistry Only covers the water balance; Full Service and VIP add the physical cleaning
  • Full Service removes at least 90% of debris per visit, VIP removes at least 99%
  • VIP adds weekly LSI balancing and moves you to the front of the queue when something needs repair

Common Questions about Pool Care in Austin

What does a weekly pool service visit include?

Every visit covers surface skimming, wall and tile brushing, vacuuming, skimmer and pump basket cleaning, filter maintenance, a full water chemistry test, and an equipment pad inspection. If the pool needs extra attention due to weather or an equipment issue, we stay longer or schedule a return visit at no additional charge.

Are chemicals included in the price?

Yes. Chlorine, shock, pH adjusters, alkalinity and calcium adjustments, stabilizer, and salt for saltwater pools are all covered by your monthly rate. The only exceptions are severe algae from prolonged neglect or metals introduced from well water, both of which are quoted separately and explained before any work begins.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No. All of our pool service plans run month to month. You can pause or cancel at any time, and any unused portion of your service is refunded. No penalty and no friction.

Do you service commercial pools and HOAs?

Yes. We provide weekly pool maintenance for HOA communities, apartment complexes, hotels, and short-term rentals across Austin. Commercial accounts follow the same chemistry and cleaning process, with additional compliance, reporting, and access coordination built in.

What if my pool turns green?

If you are already on weekly service, we address it as part of your regular visits and continue working the problem until the pool is clear. If you are not yet a client, we provide a one-time green-to-clean quote and transition you to a weekly schedule once the water is stable.

Do you offer emergency pool services?

Ph.D. Pool Care is your go-to expert for immediate pool assistance in both Bastrop and Travis Counties. Whether it's an unexpected leak, a malfunctioning pump, or a critical water quality issue, our team is equipped to handle it all.

How do I get a quote for pool service?

Call our office, send a text, or submit a request through the contact page. We gather a few details about your pool and equipment and typically have a quote back to you the same day.

Can I get a one-time cleaning or chemistry-only service?

Yes. The two situations that come up most are a one-time deep clean before an event like a wedding or an open house, and chemistry-only service for owners who want to handle the cleaning themselves but want a professional on the water balance. It is also the standard setup for newly built or freshly replastered pools during their first several weeks.

Can someone look at my pool before I sign up for service?

Yes. One of our managers can walk your property and evaluate your equipment before you commit to weekly service. There is a fee for the visit, and we waive it if you decide to sign up afterward.

How long does pool equipment typically last?

It depends on the piece. Pumps typically run 4 to 8 years, filters run 5 to 10 years depending on the type, gas heaters run 7 to 12 years and heat pumps 10 to 15, and salt cells run 3 to 7 years. Keeping your water chemistry in the right range extends all of it.

Do weekly service clients get a discount on equipment repairs?

Yes. Labor on equipment work is discounted for existing weekly service clients as part of the service relationship.

What is the difference between the four service levels?

Chemistry Only covers your water balance and leaves the cleaning to you. Chemistry Plus adds equipment inspection and basket cleaning. Full Service adds netting, vacuuming, and brushing to the visit, and VIP adds weekly LSI balancing along with front-of-queue priority on repairs.
